overnight bikepacking trips in wales
Bikepacking? The best way to think about bikepacking would be to consider it as 'off road touring' with the emphasis on light weight, self sufficiency and adventure. There's something very liberating knowing that you're carrying everything you need to spend the night away from civilisation, high in the hills or deep in the forests. While minimal kit and low weight are desireable, the aim isn't to simply endure, the real goal is to make yourself as comfortable as possible with the least possible equipment.

The Cambrian mountain range offers fantastic terrain for bikepacking. Hundreds of miles of tracks and trails crossing valleys, peaks and forests, the majority of which have very few inhabitants … so the feeling of 'being out in the wilds' is a very real and genuine one. All our trips are tailored to suit you, we can cater for individuals and groups whatever your level of experience. We don't allocate dates to bikepacking trips, simply contact us with your requirements and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

New to bikepacking?
If the idea of bikepacking appeals but the thought of just loading up and heading off seems a little daunting, why not come with us? We can take care of the details, leaving you free to enjoy a true bikepacking experience without worrying about the wheres, hows and whys.

To help keep the bikepacking trips as accessible as possible, we've kept any kit requirements to a minimum. Obviously there will be certain items required such as a sleeping bag but other more specialist equipment such as shelters, bivvy bags and sleeping mats can be supplied by us. So if you haven't got your own … just ask.

Want to improve? Want to perfect your tarp skills?

This part of Wales is one of the least populated in the entire country, it's often described as the UK's last real wilderness outside of the Highlands ... it's quite possible to ride all day and not meet a single person. As well as a tiny population, the area benefits from the UK's largest network of bridleways, old drovers roads and mtb friendly tracks and trails‚ it's possibly the best kept secret in mountain biking and you can experience it for yourself on a Forest Freeride Wilderness Ride.

Wilderness Rides are tailored to suit each group's ability and are run all year round 'on demand'. The emphasis is on enjoying new trails and company not on seeing who can go the fastest. No one's left behind and there's always the opportunity for a breather or photo stop. As the name suggests, there's a very good chance we won't pass any shops or cafes either, so you'll have to carry your lunch with you. We start around 9.30am so you may want to find local accommodation for the night before.

Cost:
One to one - £55 per person
Two people - £45 per person
Three or more - £35 per person
